Fall in Love with Ridgewood

Crisp air, falling leaves and driving down Ridgewood Avenue or Monroe as all of the beautifully colored mums line the front doors... fall is in the air! The kids in their fall jackets shuffling their feet through the leaves, as they walk to school has always been one of our favorite images of Ridgewood. The pups can’t seem to get enough of the fall either, with the cool air to sniff on the morning walk.

Quintessential Ridgewood… after a weekend of yard work, streets are lined with leaves until city service comes along to clear them away, just in time for the neighborhood block party. Yes, like a bygone era, we still have block parties in most Ridgewood neighborhoods. It’s so special these days to have the opportunity to get to know your neighbors and create that community. So many times, when people are reluctant to move, we find it’s mostly because they love their neighborhood. At Tarvin, we advise our buyers to first choose your neighborhood and then you will find your home. Houses can be updated, renovated, etc… but you can’t change location! That real estate cliche: Location. Location. Location is SO true!

The sounds of football and teenagers laughing is just a typical fall Friday night in town. The teens love the eastside, where it’s easy to walk to school and into town to grab a bagel at Ridgewood Bagels or ice cream at Kilwins or Playa Bowl before hitting a movie at Ridgewood Cinemas. The kids thrive in their independence being able to have so much freedom in this safe town full of sidewalks and bike paths.

Doesn’t the air just seem lighter and the sun a little brighter with the coolness of a sunny fall weekend morning? Maybe that’s what entices us to throw on our quilted jackets and to take a stroll into town for lattes or hot chocolate and pancakes at The Pancake House or delicious omelettes at Raymond’s. Whatever it is, fall in Ridgewood is a special time of year. With school starting back, football games and apple picking… you would never imagine you can enjoy this sophisticated, yet easy peaceful lifestyle only 20 miles from Manhattan. The real estate market is in full swing… don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy your next fall with us!
