  Demarest Farms has been growing food for Bergen County residents since 1886. This historic family farm now offers apple picking, pumpkin picking, and a petting zoo. Apple picking begins on September 3, and pumpkin picking on September 24. Admission for apple or pumpkin picking includes free entrance to the petting zoo and playground.

The Paramus Summer Food Truck Festival will arrive on August 14th, and we couldn't be more excited. This family-friendly event at Paramus Park Mall will feature music, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, shopping, and much more. There will be more than 20 food trucks available, and our agents have identified some of their favorites:

• Angry Archies
  If you're a fan of crustaceans, be sure to stop by the Angry Archies truck. In addition to crab cakes and lobster rolls, you can find chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, lobster mac and cheese, truffle fries, potato salad, and more. The selections may vary a bit, but one thing you can count on is that their crab poutine will be making a grand appearance at the event.

• Kip's Castle - 22 Crestmont Rd., Montclair, NJ, 07042 
  Kip's Castle (formerly known as Kypsburg) is a stunning recreation of a medieval Norman castle right here in Jersey. It was built from 1902 to 1905 by Frederic Ellsworth Kip, a renowned industrialist in the textile industry. Both the building and grounds were designed by Kip's wife, Charlotte Bishop Williams Kip. Her favorite feature was the octagonal rose garden, a paradise she lovingly tended to each day.

Heritage Treasures Day is observed on January 11, 2022, to celebrate historical artifacts, learn about history, and promote preservation. Bergen County has several historically notable sites that are well worth a visit on this day or any day of the year.

1. Bishop House - 176 East Saddle River Rd., Saddle River, NJ 07458
   Also known as the Ackerman-Dewsnap Home, the Bishop House was built around 1835 on the farm of Garret Ackerman. It was sold to James Dewsnap around 1870, and he built an addition to the home. The Bishop family renovated it after World War II, and it was sold to the borough in 1980. The house served as the municipal building in 1981, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Architects worked to bring the building to modern times while preserving its history. Today, it serves as the city's cultural center and is conveniently located just around the corner from Saddle River homes for sale.
