Ridgewood, NJ is well-known for its highly rated school system, making it an especially attractive option for families. Public schools in town are part of the Ridgewood Village School District, which is made up of twelve schools and educational institutions. There are five elementary schools, which cater to Ridgewood residents from Kindergarten to grade 5.


Through a commitment to excellence and innovation, the aim of all Ridgewood Public Schools is to work with the community to provide students with rich, challenging and engaging learning environments. Ridgewood elementary schools are the epitome of thisideology. Combined with a variety of programs, activities, clubs and opportunities, students are able to reach their maximum potential and grow up to become responsible and productive members of the community.

While each school has their own unique traditions and history, school sizes range between about 300 to 500 students and student/teacher ratios hover around the 10:1 mark. Furthermore, all students perform well above New Jersey state averages in both language arts literacy and math.
